Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please read this document carefully. By registering for Porró Mixed Hat tournament, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this waiver.
1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I acknowledge and understand that:
- Participating in ultimate frisbee and related tournament activities involves inherent risks including but not limited to:
- Physical injuries (sprains, strains, fractures, concussions)
- Potential Heart Break
- Collisions with other players, equipment, or surfaces
- Weather-related hazards (heat stroke, dehydration, sunburn)
- Terrible DJs
- Exposure to bad dance moves
- Overexertion and fatigue
- Bad kissers and worse jokes
- An abundance of Germans
- Contact with flying discs
- Pickpockets and theft of personal belongings
- These risks cannot be eliminated regardless of care taken to avoid injuries
- I am voluntarily participating despite these known risks
2. Assumption of Risk
I expressly assume all risks associated with my participation, including but not limited to:
- All risks identified above
- Risks arising from my own actions or the actions of other participants
- Risks arising from the condition of facilities or equipment
- Risks that are not reasonably foreseeable
- Risks that are reasonably foreseeable
I understand that these risks may result in personal injury, property damage, or even death, and I voluntarily accept these risks.
3. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue:
- Porró Mixed Hat tournament organizers and staff
- Event sponsors and partners
- Facility owners and operators
- Volunteers and officials
- Other participants
(collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained by me during participation in the event.
4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs that may incur due to my participation in the event, whether caused by negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.
5. Medical Treatment
I acknowledge and agree that:
- I am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation
- I have consulted with a physician if I have any concerns about my ability to participate
- I authorize event staff to obtain emergency medical treatment on my behalf if necessary
- I am responsible for all medical expenses incurred as a result of my participation
- I have adequate health insurance coverage
6. Rules & Conduct
I agree to:
- Follow all tournament rules, safety guidelines, and instructions from officials
- Play in a safe and sportsmanlike manner
- Not participate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or injuries to event staff
- Use proper equipment and wear appropriate attire
7. Photo & Video Release
I grant permission to Porró Mixed Hat to use my likeness in photographs, videos, and other media for promotional purposes without compensation. If I do not wish to be photographed, I will notify event organizers in writing.
8. Personal Property
I understand that the Released Parties are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to my personal property during the event.
9. Severability
If any portion of this waiver is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
10. Acknowledgment of Understanding
I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING MY RIGHT TO SUE.
11. Parental Consent (for Minors)
If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must also agree to this waiver on behalf of the minor participant. The parent/guardian agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims arising from the minor's participation.
12. Governing Law
This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles.
